By using Ayat Shorts you agree to these terms. The app is a non-profit charitable (waqf) work, offered free of charge in service of the Qur'an.

1. Nature of the service

Ayat Shorts is an on-device tool for creating short Quran videos, using text, recitations, translations, and tafsir from public Islamic sources. It is provided "as is", free and ad-free, as an ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah).

2. Respect for Quranic content

• The app displays verses from the Qur'an and their recitations; please observe the proper etiquette when handling the Qur'an.
• Altering, distorting, or misusing the verse text — or using the app in any way that disrespects the Qur'an or the religion — is strictly prohibited.
• You are responsible for any edits you add to a video (text, backgrounds, captions) and for their accuracy and appropriateness.

3. Acceptable use

• Use the app only for lawful purposes; its intended use is da'wah and beneficial sharing.
• Do not use it for any unlawful, harmful, or misleading purpose.
• Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or abuse the app or the services it relies on.

4. Intellectual property and rights

• The text of the Qur'an is in the public domain and owned by no one.
• Recitations, mushaf fonts, translations, tafsir, and backgrounds (Pexels) belong to their respective owners under their licenses; you are responsible for complying with the terms of any content you include in a video (e.g., the Pexels license and reciters' rights).
• The video you produce remains yours; we claim no ownership over it and keep no copy of it.

5. Your content and responsibility

We host, review, and control no user-generated content. You are solely responsible for the videos you produce, how you publish and share them, and compliance with the rules of the platforms you post to.

6. Third-party services

The app relies on external services (quran.com, alquran.cloud, quran-tafseer.com, everyayah.com, Pexels, and others) to fetch content. The availability of some features may depend on those services, and their use is governed by their own terms.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that it is error-free or uninterrupted. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from use of the app.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when needed and will publish the updated version at this URL. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the update.

9. Apple App Store (iOS) terms

The following terms apply to the version of the app distributed via the Apple App Store and supplement these terms:

• This agreement is between you and the developer (Husam Sharwani / حسام شرواني) only, not Apple; Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the app; support is provided via the contact email below.
• The app is free; should it fail to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, if any (there is none, as the app is free), and Apple has no other warranty obligation.
• Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the app (product liability, regulatory non-conformity, consumer protection, or third-party intellectual-property infringement); these are the developer's responsibility within the limits of these terms.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist-supporting," and that you are not listed on any prohibited-parties list.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
